Description

Allyl chloride (CAS 107-05-1 ), also known as 3-Chloropropene, is a reactive organochlorine compound used primarily as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of allyl-based derivatives. It serves as a foundational building block in the production of agrochemicals, flame retardants, and specialty polymers. In agriculture, it is a precursor in the manufacture of allyl-based pesticides. These soil fumigants are used to control nematodes and soil-borne pathogens in commercial crop production. Polymer manufacturers use it to produce epichlorohydrin, a key intermediate for epoxy resins. It is also essential for glycerol synthesis.
