It is used industrially as an ultra-low-temperature refrigerant and inert blanketing agent. Its primary commercial function is rapid cooling, freezing, and cryogenic preservation across food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and life sciences. In food production, it enables cryogenic tunnel freezing of meat, seafood, and baked goods. This method delivers faster freeze rates than mechanical systems while reducing product dehydration loss.
