Description

Sodium stannate (CAS 12058-66-1 ), also known as disodium tin trioxide, is an inorganic tin salt used industrially as a catalyst precursor, flame retardant additive, and surface treatment agent. It delivers tin chemistry in a water-soluble, alkaline form suited to wet processing and formulation environments. In textile and leather finishing, it functions as a mordant and weighting agent. This chemical improves dye uptake and fabric density in wool and silk processing.
