Phenothiazine
Description
Phenothiazine (CAS 92-84-2 ), also known as PTZ, is an organosulfur heterocyclic compound used industrially as an antioxidant, polymerization inhibitor, and biocide across multiple manufacturing sectors. It prevents premature crosslinking, oxidative degradation, and microbial activity in chemical processes and formulated products. In polymer and plastics production, PTZ acts as a monomer stabilizer. This material inhibits runaway polymerization of vinyl and acrylic monomers during storage and transport. Rubber compounders use it as an antioxidant to extend the service life of tire and industrial rubber goods. The compound performs exceptionally well under heat and mechanical stress. In lubricant and metalworking fluid formulations, it controls oxidative breakdown at elevated operating temperatures, reducing deposit formation. Agricultural applications include its use as an anthelmintic active and as a component in veterinary formulations targeting parasitic infections in livestock. It is a versatile chemical intermediate for many sectors. Phenothiazine is supplied as a light gray to greenish crystalline powder or granules, with granulated forms preferred where dust control is a handling priority for safety and efficiency. Technical grade is the standard for industrial antioxidant and inhibitor applications. Purity specifications typically range from 98% to 99%+, with documentation including COA and MSDS as standard for bulk procurement. Contact us for supply of Phenothiazine Request Quote
