1-Naphthaleneacetic acid
Description
1-Naphthaleneacetic acid ( CAS 86-87-3 ), commonly abbreviated as NAA and also known as 1-naphthylacetic acid, is a synthetic auxin used in commercial agriculture to regulate plant growth and development. It mimics the action of natural plant hormones, enabling precise control over rooting, fruit set, and thinning at the crop production scale. NAA is applied in fruit production to prevent pre-harvest drop in apples and pears. This application protects yield quality ahead of harvest windows. In propagation operations, it promotes adventitious root formation on cuttings, accelerating establishment of ornamental, horticultural, and forestry stock. Turf and nursery managers use it to stimulate uniform rooting in transplanted sod and container-grown plants. At low concentrations, it also functions as a fruit-thinning agent in apple orchards. This process improves fruit size and marketable grade. 1-Naphthaleneacetic acid is supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder. Technical grade is the standard commercial form for industrial use. Material is also available at higher purity levels to meet formulation requirements for registered agrochemical products. It is typically offered in kilogram and multi-kilogram packaging suited to manufacturers. These bulk quantities are ideal for concentrate manufacturers and formulation houses. The product ensures consistent performance across various agricultural and horticultural applications in global markets. Contact us for supply of 1-Naphthaleneacetic acid Request Quote
