Description

Isopropylamine (CAS 75-31-0 ), also known as MIPA, is a primary aliphatic amine used as a reactive building block and functional intermediate across chemical manufacturing. It acts as a curing agent, pH modifier, and flavoring precursor depending on the end application. In coatings and adhesives, MIPA functions as a crosslinking agent and curing catalyst, improving film hardness and adhesion in epoxy and polyurethane systems. Polymer manufacturers incorporate it into flame retardant formulations. These formulations contribute nitrogen-based char-forming chemistry to reduce combustibility in finished plastics. In food and flavor production, it is approved under FEMA 4238 as a flavoring agent for industrial use. It is used at trace levels to develop characteristic taste profiles in processed food applications. It also serves as an intermediate in synthesizing agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and rubber accelerators. This versatility makes it a recurring procurement target across multiple chemical supply chains. Isopropylamine is supplied as a low-boiling liquid, typically in drum, IBC, and bulk tanker quantities. Technical grade is the standard commercial offering, with purity levels commonly at 99% or higher. Food-grade supply aligned with FEMA-listed status is available from select manufacturers for flavor industry use. Contact us for supply of Isopropylamine Request Quote
