Dimethyloctylamine
Description
Dimethyloctylamine (CAS 7378-99-6 ), also known as DMOA, is a tertiary aliphatic amine used across cleaning, personal care, and specialty chemical manufacturing. It functions primarily as a pH regulator and surface-active intermediate. This versatile chemical enables formulators to control alkalinity and modify surface behavior in finished products. In industrial and household cleaning formulations, DMOA acts as a neutralizing agent for anionic surfactants. It improves detergent stability and performance at target pH ranges. Personal care manufacturers use it as an intermediate in the synthesis of quaternary ammonium compounds and amine oxides, which appear in conditioning products. These compounds are also found in mild cleansing products. In textile and leather processing, it supports wetting and penetration of treatment baths, helping dyes and finishing agents distribute evenly across substrates. Paper chemical producers also incorporate it into sizing and surface treatment formulations where controlled alkalinity is required. Dimethyloctylamine is supplied as a clear to pale yellow liquid for various uses. It is available in technical grade, which covers the majority of industrial and formulation applications. Bulk supply is standard in drums and IBC containers, with quantities suited to both development and production. Contact us for supply of Dimethyloctylamine Request Quote
