Ammonium nitrate
Description
Ammonium nitrate (CAS 6484-52-2 ), also known as Norway saltpeter, is an inorganic salt produced at industrial scale for use across agriculture, mining, and chemical processing. It functions primarily as a concentrated nitrogen source in fertilizer applications and as an oxidizer in explosive formulations. In agriculture, it delivers high-analysis nitrogen directly to crops. It is used as a straight fertilizer or blended into compound NPK products, supporting cereal, vegetable, and commodity crop production. The mining and quarrying industries rely on it as a primary oxidizer. It is the key component in ANFO blasting agents used for rock fragmentation and ore extraction. Pulp and paper operations use it in select chemical processes where a controlled nitrogen source is required. It also serves as a raw material in the manufacture of nitrous oxide and other nitrogen-based industrial chemicals. Ammonium nitrate is supplied as prilled or granular solid for various uses. Prill size and density vary by application, featuring low-density technical prill for explosives use and high-density prill or granule for fertilizer applications. Standard grades include technical and fertilizer grade. Specifications are governed by regional regulatory and safety frameworks to ensure consistency. Bulk supply in tote bags or loose bulk is standard for large-volume industrial and agricultural buyers. Contact us for supply of Ammonium nitrate Request Quote
