Description

Acridone (CAS 578-95-0 ) is a heterocyclic lactam compound used industrially as a UV stabilizer, antioxidant, and as a core building block in the synthesis of high-performance pigments and dyes. Its light-absorbing characteristics make it a valued intermediate in colorant chemistry and polymer stabilization systems. In plastics and polymer formulations, acridone derivatives function as UV absorbers and antioxidants. These derivatives protect finished materials from photodegradation during outdoor or high-exposure use. The printing and packaging industry relies on acridone-based pigments for their strong color strength and lightfastness. These pigments are used in inks applied to flexible packaging and commercial print substrates. Textile and paper dyeing processes use acridone intermediates to produce fluorescent and high-chroma colorants. These colorants offer good wash and light fastness performance. In personal care formulations, acridone derivatives contribute UV-filtering functionality in products where photostability is a requirement. Acridone is supplied as a yellow crystalline powder. Technical grade is the standard commercial offering, with purity typically specified at 98% or higher by HPLC for industrial applications. Packaging ranges from kilogram-scale laboratory quantities to bulk industrial volumes depending on supplier. This ensures flexibility for both research and development and large-scale manufacturing needs. Contact us for supply of Acridone Request Quote
