Description

Stannous pyrophosphate (CAS 15578-26-4 ), also known as ditin pyrophosphate, is an inorganic tin salt used as a stabilizer and buffering agent in food and personal care manufacturing. It functions primarily to inhibit oxidative degradation and control pH in finished formulations, extending product shelf life and maintaining quality consistency across various industrial applications. In canned seafood and meat products, it prevents struvite crystal formation and controls discoloration caused by metal-catalyzed oxidation during the preservation and storage process. Oral care formulators incorporate it into toothpaste and mouthwash systems where it acts as a tartar-control agent, helping to inhibit calcium phosphate deposition on tooth surfaces effectively. In beverage and food processing, it serves as a sequestrant to protect flavor stability against oxidative changes during storage. Personal care manufacturers also use it in stain-prevention formulations. This material is utilized where controlled tin ion release is required. The product is supplied as a white to off-white powder available in food-grade specifications aligned with FCC standards. It is also available as technical-grade material for industrial applications. Packaging is typically offered in multi-kilogram bags or drums to meet both small-batch and bulk procurement requirements. Contact us for supply of Stannous pyrophosphate Request Quote
