Triethylene glycol dimethacrylate
Description
Triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (CAS 109-16-0 ), also known as TEGDMA or Tedma, is a bifunctional methacrylate monomer used as a reactive crosslinker and diluent in UV- and peroxide-cured polymer systems. It bridges polymer chains during cure, improving hardness, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability in the final material. In dental composites and restorative materials, TEGDMA functions as a reactive diluent. This monomer lowers resin viscosity while contributing to the crosslinked network structure. UV-curable coatings and inks rely on it to increase crosslink density, improving scratch resistance and adhesion to substrates. It is effective on surfaces like plastics and metals. Structural adhesives and anaerobic sealants incorporate TEGDMA to control cure speed and enhance mechanical strength in bonded assemblies. It also serves as a comonomer in acrylic and methacrylic polymer formulations where tight control over network architecture is required. TEGDMA is supplied as a clear liquid, typically in drum and IBC quantities. Standard technical-grade material is the most common commercial form, with inhibitor levels specified to suit storage and processing requirements. Purity grades suitable for dental and medical device applications are available. These specialized grades may be supplied with corresponding documentation for regulatory compliance. The material is handled according to standard industrial safety protocols for methacrylate monomers. Contact us for supply of Triethylene glycol dimethacrylate Request Quote
