Description

tert-Butylacrylamide (CAS 107-58-4 ), commonly abbreviated as TBA, is a hydrophobic acrylamide monomer used to modify the functional properties of polymers across industrial and specialty applications. Its incorporation into copolymer systems allows formulators to tune hydrophobicity, surface adhesion, and rheological behavior in finished products. In personal care, TBA is copolymerized with acrylic acid. This process produces film-forming polymers and rheology modifiers used in hair fixatives, styling gels, and skin-care formulations. Water treatment chemicals rely on TBA-based copolymers to improve performance. These polymers enhance flocculant performance and sludge dewatering efficiency in industrial effluent systems. Coatings and adhesives manufacturers incorporate TBA to enhance water resistance and substrate adhesion. It is frequently utilized in architectural and industrial coating resins. In textile and paper processing, TBA copolymers function as surface-sizing agents and finishing auxiliaries that improve wet strength. These additives also improve surface uniformity across various substrates. tert-Butylacrylamide is supplied as a white crystalline solid or powder for industrial use. Technical-grade material is the standard commercial form, with purity levels typically at 97–99% suitable for polymerization use. Inhibited grades containing an inhibitor are available for safe storage. These specialized grades ensure stability during transport and long-term warehousing. The material meets rigorous industrial specifications for high-performance chemical manufacturing and synthesis. Contact us for supply of tert-Butylacrylamide Request Quote
