PEG-120 methyl glucose dioleate
Description
PEG-120 methyl glucose dioleate (CAS 86893-19-8 ), commercially known as Glucamate DOE-120, is a polyethylene glycol ester of methyl glucose used as a mild, water-soluble emulsifier and rheology modifier. It functions primarily to stabilize emulsions and thicken aqueous formulations in personal care and pharmaceutical systems. In rinse-off and leave-on cosmetic formulations, it builds viscosity in surfactant-based systems. This ingredient is ideal for shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers without requiring salt thickening. It stabilizes oil-in-water emulsions in lotions and creams, helping to uniformly disperse active ingredients. In pharmaceutical topical preparations, it acts as a carrier and emulsification aid where skin compatibility and low irritation potential are procurement priorities. It also supports the formulation of mild baby care. This material is particularly useful for sensitive-skin products where conventional thickeners may be unsuitable. It is supplied as a viscous liquid or semi-solid paste, depending on temperature and packaging conditions. It is available in cosmetic and personal care grades, with suppliers typically offering material conforming to standard industry specifications for purity and HLB consistency. Bulk supply is common in drums. Intermediate bulk containers are also available for industrial formulators. This versatile compound ensures stability and texture across a wide range of high-performance personal care and medical applications.
