Zinc fluoride
Description
Zinc fluoride (CAS 7783-49-5 ) is an inorganic salt used industrially as a flux agent, surface treatment chemical, and catalytic component. It delivers fluoride ion activity in controlled metallurgical and electrochemical processes. In metal surface treatment and electroplating, it acts as a bath additive that improves coating adhesion and deposit uniformity on steel and aluminum substrates. This ensures high-quality finishes in industrial manufacturing. Semiconductor and electronics manufacturers use it in etching formulations and as a precursor in thin-film deposition processes. Precise fluoride dosing is critical for these high-tech applications to maintain performance. In the production of specialty glass and optical coatings, it functions as a flux that lowers melting points. It also modifies refractive properties to meet specific optical requirements for lenses and screens. Mining and mineral processing operations apply it as a flotation modifier, adjusting surface chemistry to improve separation efficiency. This allows for better recovery of target ores during the extraction process. The product is supplied as a white crystalline powder or anhydrous granules. The anhydrous form is preferred where moisture sensitivity in downstream processing is a primary concern for the manufacturer. Technical grade material is the standard commercial offering, with purity levels typically at 98% or higher. High-purity grades are available for electronics and optical applications where trace metal limits are controlled. Contact us for supply of Zinc fluoride Request Quote
