Description

Sodium perborate (CAS 7632-04-4 ), also known as sodium peroxometaborate, is an oxidizing salt that releases active oxygen upon dissolution in water. This controlled oxygen release makes it effective as a bleaching agent and disinfectant. It serves as a cleaning booster across multiple industrial sectors. In detergent and laundry formulations, it acts as an oxygen bleach that removes stains and whitens fabrics without the fiber damage associated with chlorine-based alternatives. Pulp and paper manufacturers use it to bleach cellulose fibers, achieving brightness targets while maintaining fiber integrity. In personal care, it is incorporated into tooth-whitening products and denture cleansers. It is also used in hair bleaching formulations where controlled peroxide delivery is required. Water treatment and textile processing operations rely on it as a biocide and oxidative cleaning agent for effluent treatment. Sodium perborate is supplied in two primary commercial forms: monohydrate and tetrahydrate. The monohydrate is preferred where lower moisture content and higher active oxygen content are priorities for the manufacturer. Standard grades include technical and detergent-grade specifications. Particle size and active oxygen content are the key quality parameters buyers typically specify when sourcing this material for industrial use. Bulk and bagged supply options are available to suit both large-scale industrial and mid-volume procurement requirements. This ensures flexibility for various supply chain needs and storage capacities across different regions. Contact us for supply of Sodium perborate Request Quote
