Description

Methyl di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate (CAS 6386-38-5 ), commercially known as Irganox 3114's methyl ester counterpart and often sold under the designation Antioxidant 3114M, is a hindered phenolic antioxidant. It is used to protect polymers, lubricants, and industrial materials from oxidative degradation during processing and end-use. It functions by scavenging free radicals generated by heat and oxygen exposure. This process extends the service life of finished products. In plastics and polymer processing, it stabilizes polyolefins, engineering resins, and rubber compounds against thermal oxidation during high-temperature extrusion.
