Description

Dipalmitin (CAS 26657-95-4 ), also known as Glyceryl Dipalmitate, is a diglyceride ester of palmitic acid used as an emulsifier and moisturizing agent across food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. It provides controlled fat crystallization and interfacial stabilization in complex formulations where pure monoglycerides or triglycerides alone are insufficient for the desired chemical stability. In food manufacturing, it functions as a structuring agent and emulsifier in shortenings, margarine, and baked goods, improving texture consistency and shelf stability for commercial distribution. Cosmetic formulators incorporate it into creams, lotions, and lip products where it contributes emollient properties and helps stabilize oil-water interfaces without leaving a heavy or greasy residue. In pharmaceutical solid dosage forms, it acts as a lipid excipient in controlled-release matrices and lipid-based drug delivery systems. It also appears in specialty confectionery coatings for fat bloom control. Dipalmitin is typically supplied as a white to off-white powder or waxy solid. Food-grade and cosmetic-grade specifications are the most commonly traded forms for industrial chemical procurement. Some suppliers offer material meeting FCC or Ph.Eur. purity standards. Packaging is available in kilogram-scale bags through to bulk quantities depending on the specific application volume. Contact us for supply of Dipalmitin Request Quote
