Description

Sodium methyl siliconate (CAS 16589-43-8 ), also known under the designations KZh 11, HSL 11, and GKZh 11, is an organosilicon compound used industrially to impart durable water-repellent properties. It functions as both a surface modifier and a corrosion inhibitor across construction, textile, and industrial treatment processes. In building and construction, it is applied to concrete, brick, and masonry surfaces. This application reduces water absorption and slows corrosion of embedded reinforcement. Textile and leather processors use it to treat fabrics and hides, improving moisture resistance without altering hand feel. In paper manufacturing, it modifies surface energy to control water penetration and improve dimensional stability of finished sheets. This ensures the material remains durable under various environmental conditions. Water treatment and industrial maintenance applications use it as a corrosion inhibitor in metal-contact systems. The siliconate film formation provides protective barrier properties for critical pipework. The product is typically supplied as an aqueous alkaline solution, with active content concentrations commonly in the range of 30–50%. Technical grade is the standard commercial form for these uses. Bulk supply in drums and intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) is the norm for industrial procurement volumes. This ensures efficient handling and storage for large-scale manufacturing and construction projects. Contact us for supply of Sodium methyl siliconate Request Quote
