Neotame
Description
Neotame (CAS 165450-17-9 ), also identified by its EU designation E961 , is a high-intensity artificial sweetener derived from aspartame chemistry but engineered for significantly greater potency. At 7,000–13,000 times the sweetness of sucrose, it allows formulators to achieve target sweetness profiles at extremely low inclusion rates, reducing ingredient cost per unit and simplifying label declarations. In food and beverage manufacturing, it is used to sweeten reduced-calorie and sugar-free products including carbonated drinks, dairy desserts, baked goods, and confectionery where heat and pH stability are required. Tabletop sweetener blends and flavor-masking applications benefit from its ability to suppress bitter off-notes at sub-threshold concentrations. In oral care products it delivers sweetness without fermentable sugars. This supports non-cariogenic formulation claims in products such as toothpaste and mouthwash. Personal care formulators also incorporate it into lip care and cosmetic products where a mild sweet sensory profile is desirable. The product is supplied as a white crystalline powder. Food-grade material meeting FCC and regulatory specifications aligned with FDA and EFSA approvals is the standard commercial form. Packaging typically ranges from small quantities for R&D use up to bulk quantities for industrial-scale production. This ensures versatility for both laboratory testing and large manufacturing requirements. Contact us for supply of Neotame Request Quote
