Description

Magnesium silicate (CAS 1343-88-0 ), also known commercially as Ambosol and approved as E553a in food applications, is an inorganic salt used across food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic manufacturing. It functions primarily as an anticaking agent, adsorbent, and flow-control additive in both dry and semi-solid formulations. In food processing, it prevents clumping in powdered seasonings and salt blends. This additive maintains free-flowing characteristics through packaging and storage. Pharmaceutical manufacturers use it as a tablet excipient and as an adsorbent to remove impurities and fatty acids during oil purification. In cosmetic and personal care formulations, it improves powder texture and acts as a carrier for active ingredients in pressed powders, dry shampoos, and talc-alternative products for consumers. It also functions as a thickener and suspending agent in topical creams and ointments where rheology control is required. The material is supplied as a fine white powder in varying particle size distributions. Grades available include food-grade ( FCC compliant) and pharmaceutical-grade ( USP /NF), with technical grades available for industrial purification applications. These meet strict global safety requirements. Bulk supply is standard in bags or supersacks, with food and pharma grades requiring documented quality specifications. This ensures consistency and safety across all manufacturing and industrial supply chains. Contact us for supply of Magnesium silicate Request Quote
