Description

Sodium 3-nitrobenzenesulfonate (CAS 127-68-4 ), also known as sodium m-nitrobenzenesulfonate, is an aromatic sulfonate salt used as a catalyst component and process auxiliary across specialty chemical manufacturing. It supports oxidation and dyeing processes where controlled reactivity and water solubility are required. In textile processing, it functions as an oxidizing auxiliary in vat and sulfur dye systems. This helps to achieve consistent color development and finish quality on cellulosic fibers. The compound is used as a catalyst precursor or co-catalyst in organic synthesis, particularly in nitration processes. These processes are relevant to fine chemical and pharmaceutical intermediate production. In leather processing, it supports oxidative finishing steps where controlled bath chemistry is critical to uniformity. Biotechnology and life sciences applications include its use as a reagent in biochemical assays and as a reference compound in analytical workflows. It is supplied as a crystalline powder or granular solid. Technical grade is the standard commercial form, with purity levels typically ranging from 98% upward depending on the intended application. Packaging is available in multi-kilogram bags through to bulk quantities. This range of packaging options accommodates both laboratory-scale procurement and industrial volume requirements. The material is handled according to standard chemical safety protocols for industrial sulfonates. Contact us for supply of Sodium 3-nitrobenzenesulfonate Request Quote
