Description

Oleylamine (CAS 112-90-3 ), also sold under trade names Armeen O and Noram O, is a long-chain fatty amine derived from oleic acid. Under the abbreviation OLA, it is recognized in materials science and specialty chemical markets. It serves as a surface-active agent and emulsifier. Its primary commercial role spans textile processing, personal care formulation, and advanced materials manufacturing where it provides critical functional properties. In textile and leather processing, it functions as a softening agent and antistatic additive. This improves hand feel and reduces static buildup in finished fabrics during the manufacturing process. Personal care formulators incorporate it as an emulsifier and conditioning agent in hair and skin products. In these applications, it aids the dispersion of oil-phase ingredients for better stability. In plastics and polymer manufacturing, it acts as a curing co-agent and surface modifier. It improves adhesion and compatibility between polymer matrices and fillers in various industrial settings. Nanoparticle synthesis represents a growing industrial use for this chemical. It serves as a stabilizing ligand and capping agent controlling particle size and dispersion in specialty coatings and electronics. The product is supplied as an amber to yellow liquid. Standard commercial grades include technical-grade material, with purity levels typically ranging from 70% to 98% depending on application requirements. Higher-purity grades are available for specialty applications in electronics and advanced materials. These are used where tighter amine content specifications are required for high-performance results. Contact us for supply of Oleylamine Request Quote
