Description

N-Methylethanolamine (CAS 109-83-1 ), commercially abbreviated as MMEA, is a secondary amino alcohol used across chemical manufacturing as a pH regulator, buffering agent, and reactive intermediate. Its dual functional groups, a secondary amine and a hydroxyl, make it a building block for surfactants, corrosion inhibitors, and specialty polymers. In coatings and adhesives, MMEA functions as a neutralizing agent. It is used for waterborne resin systems, improving dispersion stability and film formation. Personal care formulators use it to adjust pH in emulsions and creams, where it also contributes mild humectant properties. Pharmaceutical manufacturers employ MMEA as a synthesis intermediate in active ingredient production and as a buffering component in topical preparations. It is a versatile component for many industries. In industrial gas treatment and sealant systems, it acts as an absorbent for acid gases and a reactive modifier for polymer crosslinking. This makes it essential for high-performance industrial applications. N-Methylethanolamine is supplied as a clear liquid in drum and IBC quantities, with bulk tanker options available for larger procurement volumes. Technical grade is the standard commercial offering. This grade is suitable for industrial and coating applications. Pharmaceutical-grade material meeting USP or BP specifications is available for regulated manufacturing use and specialized applications. Contact us for supply of n-methylethanolamine Request Quote
