Description

Chrome Etchant is a precision wet etching formulation based on ceric ammonium nitrate and nitric acid for selective removal and patterning of chromium thin films. It is an essential process chemical in flat panel display and LED manufacturing for patterning chromium black matrix layers, as well as in photomask fabrication for chrome-on-glass mask patterning. The ceric ammonium nitrate provides the oxidizing power to dissolve metallic chromium, while nitric acid maintains the solution chemistry and prevents cerium precipitation. The formulation delivers consistent etch rates with excellent critical dimension control and minimal undercut, making it suitable for high-resolution patterning applications.
