Description

Soybean oil (CAS 8001-22-7 ), also traded as soya oil, is a commodity vegetable oil derived from processed soybeans and supplied across food, industrial, and personal care markets. Degummed soybean oil represents the primary refined form used in technical and industrial procurement channels. It functions as a base oil, plasticizer, and carrier across a broad range of formulations. In food manufacturing, it serves as a cooking oil, frying medium, and fat component in margarines, dressings, and processed foods. Personal care formulators incorporate it into moisturizing creams and lotions. Its emollient character supports skin feel and spreadability in hair conditioners. In coatings and alkyd resin production, it acts as a drying oil component that contributes to film formation and flexibility. Industrial processors also use it as a plasticizer and softener in rubber compounding and polymer formulations. This improves workability and reduces brittleness in various manufacturing processes. Soybean oil is supplied as a clear to pale yellow liquid in bulk tankers, IBCs, and drums. Standard grades include refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) for food applications and industrial use. Crude and degummed grades are available for industrial use. Food-grade material is available to specifications aligned with FCC and USP standards for global distribution and compliance.
