Calcium sorbate

Calcium sorbate (CAS 7492-55-9 ), also designated E203 , is the calcium salt form of sorbic acid used as a broad-spectrum preservative across food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical applications. It inhibits the growth of mold, yeast, and bacteria, extending shelf life in moisture-sensitive and pH-neutral formulations where potassium sorbate may be less suitable for the specific application.
