Description

Barium dinonylnaphthalenesulfonate (CAS 25619-56-1 ) is an oil-soluble barium salt used as a corrosion inhibitor, antioxidant, and detergent additive in petroleum-based formulations. It belongs to the dinonylnaphthalenesulfonate family of overbased or neutral sulfonates that protect metal surfaces in aggressive service environments during industrial operations. In lubricant and grease formulations, it neutralizes acidic by-products of oxidation, extending service life in high-temperature and high-load applications for machinery. Metalworking fluids rely on it to prevent rust and corrosion on ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces during cutting, forming, and storage of various industrial parts.
