Bisphenol a epoxy resin
Description
Bisphenol A epoxy resin (CAS 25068-38-6 ), also designated E828 in food contact applications, is a thermosetting polymer formed by reacting bisphenol A with epichlorohydrin. It functions as a reactive matrix resin and adhesive binder across structural, protective, and electronic applications. The resin cures with a range of hardeners to form chemically resistant, high-strength materials. In protective coatings, it forms the backbone of corrosion-resistant systems for industrial infrastructure, marine vessels, and concrete flooring. Structural adhesive formulations rely on it to bond metals, composites, and substrates in automotive assemblies and aerospace components. Joint integrity under mechanical stress is critical in these high-performance environments. In electronics, it is used to encapsulate components and manufacture printed circuit board laminates. Dimensional stability and electrical insulation after cure are procurement priorities for these technical applications. Building and construction applications include grout systems, anchoring mortars, and waterproofing membranes. Chemical and moisture resistance determine product performance in these demanding infrastructure projects. Supplied as a liquid resin at varying viscosities or as a solid at higher molecular weights, it is typically shipped in drums, IBCs, or bulk. Standard grades are defined by epoxide equivalent weight (EEW). Low-viscosity liquid grades and solid flake grades are both commercially available to meet specific manufacturing needs. Food-contact grades compliant with the E828 designation are available for internal coatings of cans and packaging. Contact us for supply of Bisphenol a epoxy resin Request Quote
