Description

Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (CAS 1847-58-1 ), commercially known as Lathanol or by the abbreviation SLSA, is a mild anionic surfactant derived from lauryl alcohol and sulfoacetic acid. It delivers rich foam and effective cleansing while being significantly gentler on skin than conventional sulfate surfactants. This material is a preferred alternative in sensitive-skin formulations due to its low irritation profile. SLSA is a primary surfactant in solid and powdered cleansing formats such as bath bombs, solid shampoo bars, and dry shampoos. These applications rely on it for foam generation and cleansing performance without the harshness associated with SLS. In liquid rinse-off products like body washes and facial cleansers, it functions as a co-surfactant to boost lather volume. It is also effective at moderating irritation potential in complex surfactant systems. Toothpaste and oral care formulations use the ingredient for its foaming and mild degreasing action in a mucous membrane-safe profile. Its emulsification and dispersion properties also support leave-on formulations where uniform ingredient distribution is required. The product is supplied primarily as a white free-flowing powder, which suits dry-blending and solid dosage formats. Cosmetic-grade is the standard commercial specification, with material typically meeting purity requirements suitable for personal care registration. Bulk supply is available in bags, with packaging sizes ranging from small quantities to industrial-scale orders. Contact us for supply of Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate Request Quote
