Description

Sodium ferrocyanide (CAS 13601-19-9 ), also known commercially as E535 and tetrasodium hexacyanoferrate, is an inorganic iron-cyanide salt used across food processing and industrial water treatment. It functions primarily as an anti-caking agent, chelating agent, and corrosion inhibitor depending on the end-use sector. In food and salt processing, it is approved to prevent clumping in table salt. This additive is used in mineral salts at regulated dosage levels to ensure flowability. Water treatment operations use it to sequester heavy metals and control corrosion in distribution systems and cooling circuits. In mining and metallurgy, it supports metal separation and precipitation processes where controlled iron-cyanide chemistry is required. Textile and leather processing operations also employ it as a stabilizer. It acts as a reducing agent in dyebath formulations and tanning auxiliaries. Sodium ferrocyanide is supplied as a yellow crystalline powder or granules, with decahydrate being the standard commercial form. Food-grade material is available to E535 specifications and FCC standards. Technical-grade product serves industrial applications in water treatment and mining where high purity is still essential. Purity levels and moisture content are key specification parameters buyers should confirm with suppliers. This ensures the material meets the specific requirements of the intended industrial or food application. Contact us for supply of Sodium ferrocyanide Request Quote
