Copper oxychloride
Description
Copper oxychloride (CAS 1332-40-7 ), also sold under trade names such as Coprantol and Cuprasol, is an inorganic copper-based compound used primarily as a fungicide and bactericide across agricultural and industrial markets. Its biocidal action against a broad range of fungal pathogens and bacteria makes it a well-established active ingredient in crop protection and industrial preservation programs. In agriculture, it is formulated into wettable powders. These suspension concentrates are used for foliar application, controlling diseases such as downy mildew, blight, and bacterial canker on fruits, vegetables, and vines. Water treatment operations use it to suppress algal growth. It is effective against microbial growth in industrial cooling systems and process water circuits. In the pulp and paper industry, it functions as a slimicide and preservative, preventing microbial contamination in process water. It also serves as a copper supplement source in animal feed premixes where regulated copper intake supports livestock health. The compound is supplied as a green-blue powder or wettable powder concentrate. Technical-grade material is the most common commercial form. Agricultural-grade specifications are standard, with active copper content typically expressed as metallic copper equivalent for various industrial applications. Feed-grade material is available in select markets where regulatory approval for use in animal nutrition has been granted. This ensures the product meets necessary safety requirements for the livestock industry. Contact us for supply of Copper oxychloride Request Quote
