Kaolinite
Description
Kaolinite (CAS 1318-74-7 ) is a naturally occurring aluminosilicate clay mineral used across industrial and specialty applications as a functional filler, coating agent, and rheology modifier. It provides opacity, viscosity control, and surface smoothness in formulated products without altering the active chemistry of the system. In paper and board manufacturing, it is applied as a coating pigment. This mineral improves printability, brightness, and surface uniformity in paper products. Rubber compounders incorporate it as a reinforcing filler in tire sidewalls and industrial rubber goods for dimensional stability. It contributes to processing consistency in various manufacturing environments. Pharmaceutical manufacturers use it as an excipient in tablet formulations and topical preparations where its adsorptive capacity supports delivery. In agriculture, these formulations are applied as particle film coatings on crops and as a carrier in pesticide products. It is supplied as a fine white to off-white powder in various grades. Standard commercial specifications include technical grade, pharmaceutical-grade ( USP / BP ), and food-grade ( FCC ) depending on the target application and the specific regulatory requirements of the industry. Particle size distribution and brightness levels vary by grade, with calcined grades offering higher brightness. These grades also provide lower moisture content for demanding coating and rubber applications. Contact us for supply of Kaolinite Request Quote
