Description

4-Nonylphenol branched ethoxylated (CAS 127087-87-0 ) is a nonionic surfactant derived from branched nonylphenol reacted with ethylene oxide. It functions as an emulsifier, dispersant, and wetting agent across a broad range of industrial formulations. In industrial and institutional cleaning, it delivers effective degreasing performance in hard surface cleaners, degreasers, and heavy-duty detergent concentrates. Textile and leather processors use it as a wetting and scouring agent. This chemical improves fiber penetration and process efficiency during preparation and dyeing stages. Agricultural formulators incorporate it as an emulsifier in crop protection products, helping to stabilize emulsifiable concentrates and suspension concentrates. In coatings and adhesive systems, it acts as a dispersant and emulsification aid during resin emulsification and pigment dispersion processes. It is supplied as a clear to slightly hazy liquid, with viscosity and HLB value varying. The properties change according to the degree of ethoxylation. Standard ethoxylate grades range from low EO (around 4–6 moles) to higher EO variants (up to 30+ moles), covering a wide HLB range for different formulation needs. Technical grade is the standard commercial specification for this product. It remains a versatile component for manufacturers requiring reliable surface activity and chemical stability in diverse aqueous and non-aqueous systems.
