Ethylene dioleamide
Description
Ethylene dioleamide (CAS 110-31-6 ) is a bis-amide derived from oleic acid and ethylenediamine, used commercially as an internal lubricant, slip agent, and surface modifier across polymer and rubber processing. It reduces interparticle and surface friction during compounding and forming operations without migrating aggressively to the surface. In plastics processing, it functions as an internal lubricant and slip additive. In polyolefin and PVC compounds, it improves mold release and reduces die buildup during extrusion. Rubber and tire manufacturers incorporate it to aid mixing dispersion and reduce compound sticking to processing equipment. In metalworking lubricant formulations, it contributes boundary lubrication performance in drawing and stamping compounds where metal-on-metal contact must be controlled. It also acts as a plasticizer and softener. In specialty polymer blends, flexibility and surface feel are key processing targets. Ethylene dioleamide is supplied as a waxy solid or flake, with melting point characteristics that suit both melt-blending and solvent-based incorporation. Technical grade is the standard commercial form for industrial rubber and plastics applications. Purity specifications and particle size can vary by supplier, and buyers should confirm suitability against their compounding process requirements.
